BOOTH Rental for the South Dakota Science Teachers Association State & South Dakota Council of Teachers of Mathematics Joint Convention in Huron on February 6 & 7, 1998 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $150.00 (The Registration fee includes a $75 deposit, one table with/without electricity, and a Friday luncheon. Additional tables are available @ $25. The $75 deposit will be refunded to the exhibitors providing the exhibit is open during the scheduled times for the duration of the conference and a door prize is provided. If you provide a speaker, your registration fee will be waived.) The above is subject to the conference committees guidlines.
If an exhibitor can not come to the convention but wants an unattended booth, the association will set up the booth, take it down and ship the materials back to you - at your cost - for an additional fee of . . .. . . . . . . . . $50.00 (The association assumes no liability for materials which may be lost from unattended booths.)

Each issue of the newsletter has an underlying topic related to the sciences. The recent topics have been: environmental education, garbologists & archaeologists, and recycling. This is included along with the regular features: calendar of events, demonstrations or labs, articles relating to theme of the issue, presidential message & editorial offerings. The first issue of the year may contain information from the election meeting, schedule of the upcoming SDSTA Convention, information from summer science workshops, and winners of awards in science. The deadline for submissions is the end of August as the newsletter will be mailed around September 10th. The second issue deals with information from the annual meeting of the SDSTA, results of North Central Regional Symposium, and student competitions. The deadline for this issue is around the end of November with the newsletter being mailed before the end of December.The third issue deals with summer institutes and workshops for teachers, Physical and Biological Science Teacher of the Year nominations, and the SD Junior Academy of Science Competition. The deadline for this issue is around the end of January with the newsletter being mailed by the end of February.The fourth issue deals with the results of the Jr. Academy of Science Competitions, students who will attend the International Science and Engineering Fair, summer science courses, and recognition of the science teachers of the year. The deadline is around the middle of April with the newsletter being mailed by the first week of May. |
